Union Budget Charts Course For A Self-Sufficient, Future-Ready India: Union Home Minister Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday praised the Union Budget 2025–26, saying it reinforces that the idea of a self-reliant and developed India is a concrete commitment, not merely a slogan. He noted that the Budget presents a structured and realistic framework to strengthen every sector and empower citizens at all levels.

Sharing his views on social media, HM Shah said, “The budget presents not only a clear blueprint to empower every sector, every section, and every citizen, but also a practical, ground-level vision that will support and encourage progress at every step.”

According to HM Shah, the Budget addresses a wide spectrum of areas, including manufacturing, infrastructure, healthcare, tourism, rural development, artificial intelligence, sports, and pilgrimage centres.

He said these measures are designed to meet the aspirations of youth, women, and farmers, ensuring balanced development across villages, towns, and cities.

“Reflecting the roadmap for building a Viksit Bharat by 2047 and outlining the vision for the next 25 years, this Budget deserves heartfelt appreciation from every Indian to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman,” he added.

Focus on Infrastructure and Connectivity

“Viksit Bharat Budget accelerates PM Modi’s vision of a Future Ready Bharat where growth reaches beyond big cities, by allocating Rs 12.2 lakh crore for capital expenditure,” HM Shah mentioned.

He noted that new rail corridors, National Waterways, and enhanced connectivity to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities would create jobs and expand economic opportunities.

He also welcomed the announcement of seven high-speed rail corridors, saying they would improve inter-city travel and significantly reduce journey times between major population and economic hubs.

HM Shah commended the launch of the Mahatma Gandhi Gram Swaraj Yojana, describing it as a step towards empowering villages and reinforcing the rural economy. He said the scheme would benefit farmers, weavers, and the handloom sector.

He further highlighted initiatives such as the Coconut Promotion Scheme for coastal regions, expected to benefit three crore farmers, along with measures to increase cashew and cocoa production and conserve sandalwood.

Calling MSMEs key drivers of economic growth, HM Shah said “Making MSMEs the champions of India’s growth story, Viksit Bharat Budget realises PM Modi’s vision of galvanising the economy from the grassroots through a clear three-pronged framework with a Rs 10,000 crore Growth Fund. The provision will propel the MSMEs in tier 2 and tier 3 cities to hit their targets through structured professional handholding.”

HM Shah also added that plans to develop cultural and eco-tourism destinations, establish a National Institute of Hospitality, create university townships, and expand research and skill-based education reflect the government’s resolve to build a globally competitive India.
