Top 10 Most-Valued Firms Add Rs 1.9 Trillion In Market Cap As Stocks Rally

Eight of India’s 10 most-valued companies added a combined Rs 1.90 trillion to their market capitalisation last week, supported by a robust rally in domestic equity markets.

Benchmark indices ended the week with solid gains, reflecting improved investor sentiment.

The Sensex rose 1,284.61 points, or 1.73 per cent, while the Nifty advanced 256.2 points, or 1 per cent.

Optimism over a potential peace agreement between the United States and Iran boosted market confidence, raising hopes of reduced geopolitical tensions and greater stability in global energy markets.

The positive outlook encouraged buying across several heavyweight stocks.

Among the top-10 most-valued firms, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro, and Hindustan Unilever recorded gains in market valuation.

In contrast, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) saw declines.
