Mohit Joshi, President of Infosys, has been named the new CEO and Managing Director of Tech Mahindra, effective December 20, 2023. Joshi was appointed following his resignation from Infosys on March 11, 2023.
Joshi’s tenure at Infosys will end in June, and he will be on leave until then.
According to the company’s regulatory filing, Infosys president Mohit Joshi has resigned. “He will be on leave beginning March 11, 2023, and his last day with the company will be June 9, 2023. The Board of Directors expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Mohit Joshi for his services and contributions to the company,” the company Infosys said in a statement.
Joshi will take over as Managing Director and CEO on December 20, according to a stock exchange filing by Tech Mahindra.
“Appointment of Mr. Mohit Joshi (DIN: 08339247) as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Company and Key Managerial Personnel under the Companies Act, 2013, for a period of 5 (five) years with effect from the 20th of December, 2023 to the 19th of December, 2028 (both days inclusive)”, the company said.
“Mohit’s appointment is the successful culmination of a rigorous selection process during which the NRC evaluated a number of internal and external candidates,” said Tech Mahindra NRC Chairperson TN Manoharan in a statement.
“Mohit’s experience with digital transformation, new technologies, and large deals will complement Tech Mahindra’s strategies and help the company maintain its strong growth momentum”, he added.
Mohit joined Infosys in 2000 and has worked in various capacities for the company since then. He was previously in charge of leading the Financial Services business in Europe. Mohit was appointed CEO of Infosys Mexico in 2007 and was instrumental in establishing the company’s first subsidiary in Latin America.
Mohit Joshi was responsible for the Financial Services and Healthcare/Life Sciences businesses at Infosys, according to the company’s official website. Furthermore, as Chairman of Edgeverve Systems Ltd, he oversaw the software division, which included Finacle, Infosys’ global banking platform. He also leads Infosys’ Sales Operations and Effectiveness and has executive responsibility for large deals across the company.
