Targeting 50 GW Renewable Capacity By 2030: Sagar Adani

On Wednesday, Sagar Adani said that Adani Green Energy is structuring its expansion strategy to achieve a renewable energy capacity of 50 GW by 2030.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Resilient Futures Summit 2026, he noted that all future capacity additions are being aligned with this long-term objective.

Sagar Adani highlighted that the group, led by Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani, has committed an investment of $100 billion towards India’s transition to cleaner energy, describing it as one of the largest such pledges by a private company globally.

Providing details on ongoing projects, Sagar Adani said the company is developing a large renewable energy park at Khavda in Gujarat.

The project will likely have a capacity of 30 GW and will spread across 538 square kilometres, making it one of the largest developments of its kind.

Sagar Adani added that the company’s installed renewable capacity has already reached around 20 GW. He said it will more than double over the next few years.

Apart from renewable generation, the company is also investing in transmission infrastructure and other segments of the energy sector to support overall capacity growth.

Commenting on the policy environment, Sagar Adani said consistent government support has helped accelerate growth in renewables, with India adding a record 55 GW capacity in the sector last year.

On global developments, he acknowledged that tensions around the Strait of Hormuz remain a concern. He added that the situation remains under effective handling at the national level.

Earlier during the summit, Sagar Adani also pointed to steady policy direction in India, stating that continued focus on infrastructure, renewable expansion and long-term investments has strengthened the country’s energy resilience.
