Suzlon Group Bags 50 MW Wind Project

On Wednesday, Suzlon Group announced that it has been chosen to build a 50.4 MW wind power project for Sembcorp’s renewables subsidiary Green Infra Wind Energy Ltd. The Suzlon Group said that as part of the agreement, Suzlon will construct 24 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a hybrid lattice tubular (HLT) tower and a rated capacity of 2.1 MW each. According to the release, the project would be completed in Karnataka and put into operation in 2024.

Suzlon will complete the project, including building and commissioning, and deliver the wind turbines (equipment supply). Additionally, it will offer complete post-commissioning operations and maintenance services. According to the release, this order is a component of the proposal Sembcorp received from Railway Energy Management Company Ltd. (REMCL).

We take great pride in the fact that our collaboration with Sembcorp will enable Indian Railways to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by the end of this decade, helping to create a sustainable India. “With 28 years of experience in the wind energy sector, our company is best positioned to contribute to India’s fight against the “climate emergency,” with a focus on renewable energy,” claims JP Chalasani, CEO of Suzlon Group.
