Stock market closed: The market closed with a decline on the first trading day of the week. Nifty closed down 86 points at 17,771, Nifty Bank down 277 points at 41,282 and closed down 251 points at 60,432. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 34 closed in the red and 16 in the green. Out of 12 Nifty Bank stocks, 11 closed in the red and 1 in the green. Buying was seen in 12 Sensex stocks while selling was seen in 18. Selling was seen in midcap, and smallcap stocks. The pressure was seen in IT, realty and, banking stocks. Auto, Pharma, and Energy, indices closed with losses. PSE, and FMCG indices closed with gains.
