Reliance Launches Ten-Point Relief Plan For Flood-Hit Punjab

In the wake of catastrophic floods across Punjab, Reliance Industries has activated a large-scale relief initiative to support affected communities.

The ten-point response plan is being implemented across some of the hardest-hit areas, including Amritsar and Sultanpur Lodhi, bringing immediate support to over 10,000 families.

Anant Ambani, Director of Reliance Industries Limited, affirmed the group’s commitment,”Our heart goes out to the people of Punjab in this hour of suffering. This ten-point plan reflects our deep belief that We Care. We are committed to walk alongside Punjab through this difficult time.”

Food, Water and Shelter Support

Reliance Foundation, in collaboration with Reliance Retail and local authorities, has initiated widespread distribution of essential supplies. Relief efforts include:

  • Dry ration kits for 10,000 families in the worst-affected areas.
  • ₹5,000 voucher-based support for 1,000 vulnerable households, especially single-woman and elderly-led homes.
  • Provisioning for community kitchens to ensure access to fresh meals.
  • Portable water filters to ensure safe drinking water in flood-affected zones.

Emergency shelter kits containing tarpaulins, bedding, mosquito nets, ropes and groundsheets have also been distributed to support displaced families.

Public Health & Hygiene Measures

With heightened risk of disease following flooding, Reliance teams have begun:

  • Disinfection of water sources.
  • Health awareness sessions to curb disease outbreaks.
  • Distribution of sanitation kits to every impacted household.

Animal Rescue and Livestock Care

Flooding has severely impacted livestock and wildlife. Vantara, the wildlife initiative of Reliance, is working with the state’s Animal Husbandry Department to:

  • Set up mobile livestock camps offering veterinary services, medicines and vaccines.
  • Distribute 3,000 silage bundles for nearly 5,000 cattle.
  • Deploy a 50-member Vantara expert rescue team to aid displaced wild animals and manage scientific cremation of deceased animals to prevent disease.

Jio’s Punjab team worked with NDRF and district authorities to restore full mobile connectivity in affected regions, ensuring residents remain connected during the crisis.

Dry rations and sanitation kits containing 21 essential items are being dispatched by Reliance Retail in collaboration with Reliance Foundation and local Panchayats to ensure targeted delivery.

Reliance’s coordinated effort across food security, healthcare, shelter, and animal care reflects a holistic and compassionate disaster response.

With long-term recovery planning already underway, Reliance reaffirms its commitment to stand with Punjab and help communities rebuild stronger than before.
