Reliance Launches Major Initiatives To Support Devotees During Rath Yatra In Puri

Reliance Industries Limited, in partnership with the Puri district administration, has launched a wide-ranging initiative to ensure a smooth and enriching Rath Yatra experience for lakhs of devotees.

The company’s efforts aim to provide safety, comfort, and nourishment during the 13-day annual chariot festival in Odisha.

The Rath Yatra attracts massive crowds who gather to witness the grand procession of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra from the Jagannath Temple to the Gundicha Temple.

With a focus on the spirit of seva, Reliance Foundation is offering vital support to both pilgrims and police personnel.

Anant M Ambani, Executive Director, Reliance Industries Limited, said, “Seva is deeply rooted in Reliance’s ‘We Care’ philosophy. Serving devotees in Puri is an honour. We are committed to enriching their journey through food, safety, and comfort.”

Meals, cleanliness, and comfort in focus

Reliance Foundation is serving hot, wholesome meals to lakhs of devotees and police personnel at six major points along the Rath Yatra route.

The foundation has ensured hygiene by installing contactless sanitisers at food stalls and distributing garbage bags in collaboration with local authorities. Sanitation facilities have also been extended to police camps.

To provide relief in the summer heat, over 1.5 lakh eco-friendly hand fans are being distributed. Volunteers will also operate water points to keep devotees hydrated.

To manage the massive crowd, over 4,000 trained volunteers in uniform have been deployed. They will assist in guiding devotees with clear signage and direction boards.

Reliance has set up 100 police aid posts, each with shelter facilities for on-duty officers. These posts will also act as help centres for visitors.

Given the monsoon season, 3,500 raincoats have been provided to police staff. Volunteers, municipal workers, and police personnel will also receive refreshment kits.

Earlier this year, during Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, Reliance served lakhs of pilgrims with food, transport, and health services. The company remains committed to serving communities during spiritual events.
