PRAGATI Platform Ensured Acceleration Of 340 Infrastructure Projects: Oxford Study

An study by Oxford has credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and PRAGATI platform for growth of 340 infrastructure projects. The cumulative worth of these projects due from 3 to 20 years are 20 billion dollars.

The study released on Monday, crediting PM Modi and PRAGATI for contributing to India’s development, said that platform had outsized impact on the development of India.

“By June 2023, 340 projects worth INR 17.05 lakh crore ($205 billion) had gone through the PRAGATI review process,” the study released on Monday said. The study said the hands-on involvement of India’s top leader, Narendra Modi, is a key feature of the PRAGATI platform – and an “essential component of its success”.

PM Modi, in a post on X, expressed his satisfaction with the recognition of PRAGATI’s effectiveness. “PRAGATI represents a wonderful amalgamation of technology and governance, ensuring silos are removed and projects are completed on time. Over the years, these sessions have led to substantive benefits, which have greatly benefitted people. Am glad that the effectiveness of PRAGATI has been recognised in the study by @OxfordSBS and @GatesFoundation,” he wrote.

The study was co-authored by Soumitra Dutta, Peter Moores Dean and Professor of Management at Saïd Business School, and Mukul Pandya, Associate Fellow at the same institution.
