Reliance Foundation Chairperson and Founder Nita Ambani recently hosted the spectacular ‘Sudesh’ event at the Sudesh flagship store in AEROS, Mumbai.
The celebration brought together talented artisans, craftsmen, and renowned fashion designers from across India, alongside several Bollywood celebrities.
Photographs from the event have rapidly gone viral on social media, highlighting the grandeur of the occasion.
The December edition of ‘Sudesh’ placed India’s ancient and invaluable craft traditions at the forefront. Artisans showcased an array of creations, including traditional toys, garments, wooden carvings, sculptures, and other handicrafts.
Reliance Foundation Chairperson praised the craftsmen, noting that their dedication ensures the survival and growth of India’s traditional arts.
Nita Ambani’s Elegant Appearance
Nita Ambani looked stunning in a peacock blue and silver Banarasi saree, adorned with intricate meenakari and traditional ‘kadwa’ weaving.
The custom blouse, designed by Manish Malhotra, featured polki borders, hand-crafted deity buttons, and vintage tassels from her personal collection, perfectly complementing her look with a bindi.
Distinguished Artisans Take Centre Stage
The event also honoured several nationally acclaimed artisans, including Padma Shri recipient Brian Basak, known for Tasar and Jamdani weaving; V Panirsalvam, a Thanjavur painter; Shami Bano Sharma, a seventh-generation painter and award winner; renowned Paithani textile designer Ghanshyam Sarode; and Odisha Ikat textile artist and 2024 national award winner Ganjan Jain.
Leading Bollywood figures joined the celebration alongside designer Manish Malhotra, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Madhuri Dixit, Shriram Nene, Sonam Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor, Janelia, Ritesh Deshmukh, and Anit Padda were among the attendees, all donning traditional attire and adding glamour to the event.

Ananya Panday impressed in an orange and silver-work saree, while Janhvi Kapoor turned heads in an off-shoulder ensemble.
Deepika Padukone looked elegant in an off-white Anarkali suit with a deep-coloured dupatta, complemented by the stylish Ranveer Singh.

Guests were also treated to an array of delectable dishes, including cookies, cakes, pastries, and other gourmet delights.
