Nita Ambani, Founder and Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, has been awarded an honorary doctorate by the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology in Bhubaneswar.

The honour recognises her extensive contributions across education, sports, healthcare, rural development, as well as arts and culture.

The university commended her efforts in nation-building and acknowledged her initiatives aimed at uplifting underprivileged communities. Several eminent personalities attended the award ceremony.

Earlier, on 16 March, Nita Ambani received a prestigious humanitarian award at the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences. The award was presented by Mohan Munasinghe.

She was honoured for her impactful work in the social sector and her sustained commitment to community development initiatives.

While accepting the award, Nita Ambani called for equal treatment of sons and daughters. She emphasised that girls are equally capable and can achieve the same goals as boys, urging society to eliminate gender-based distinctions.
