Mukesh Ambani has reclaimed the richest Indian status. With this he pipped out Gautam Adani who finished last year as the richest Indian. According to the 360 ONE Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2023, Ambani’s wealth increased by 2 percent whereas Adani’s wealth declined by 57 percent.

The primary reason for the fall of Adani’s wealth was the Hindenburg report that got published earlier this year. Last year Adani was over Ambani by Rs 3 trillion and this time Ambani overtaken Adani by the same margin. Ever since the Hurun India Rich List was formed this is the greatest fall of the wealth of any individual.
The report published show that out of top 10 richest Indian only Adani and Radhakishan Damani had their wealth declined. Cyrus Poonawalla, managing director of the Serum Institute of India, secured the third spot with a net worth of Rs 2.78 trillion, thus registering a 36% rise in 2023.

Shiv Nadar, founder and chairman emeritus of HCL Technologies, and Gopichand Hinduja of the Hinduja Group retained the fourth and fifth position respectively. Kaivalya Vohra, founder of the e-commerce platform Zepto, continued as the youngest individual on the list for this year as well.
