Mukesh Ambani Hails Arundhati Bhattacharya As A Role Model For Women Leaders

Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani praised Arundhati Bhattacharya’s courage, values and leadership while addressing the launch of the Hindi edition of her memoir, ‘Indimitable’. He described her as someone who has consistently overcome challenges and highlighted the Hindi title ‘Aparajita’ as a powerful reflection of her journey.

Mukesh Ambani recalled Bhattacharya’s association with Reliance and her contribution to its Board since 2018. He said she had strengthened boardroom discussions through her experience, independent thinking and ability to find solutions to complex challenges.

Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani highlighted her historic achievement as the first woman Chairperson of the State Bank of India. She took up the position in 2013 after four decades of dedicated service.

Mukesh Ambani noted that she continued her career despite demanding postings and frequent transfers. She faced the challenges of being a working mother.

Reliance Industries Chairman identified four key lessons from the memoir: the importance of family values, accepting responsibility instead of blaming others, remaining a lifelong learner and developing people-centred leadership. He said family represents an enduring source of emotional, moral and spiritual strength. He further urged people to treat setbacks as feedback and continue learning from younger generations, technology and difficult experiences.

Mukesh Ambani stressed that women have become important drivers of progress across business, science, sport, the armed forces and communities. He said Bhattacharya’s career demonstrated how breaking one barrier could create opportunities for many others.

Reliance Industries Chairman urged business leaders to create a stronger ecosystem for working women and mothers in Corporate India. He asked Bhattacharya and other accomplished women to guide such an initiative and said Reliance Foundation would participate.

Mukesh Ambani concluded by calling for the empowerment of more women leaders to help build the ‘New Temples of Viksit Bharat’. He further congratulated Bhattacharya and her family on the Hindi edition of her memoir.
