The Sensex and Nifty indices closed the day higher, reflecting bullish global market trends.
The 30-share BSE Sensex rose 282.88 points or 0.44 percent to conclude at 64,363.78, extending the previous day’s rise. It climbed 454.29 points or 0.70 percent to 64,535.19 during the day.
The Nifty advanced 97.35 points or 0.51 percent to 19,230.60.
Titan, Tech Mahindra, Tata Motors, JSW Steel, ICICI Bank, Infosys, State Bank of India, and Sun Pharma were the top gainers on the Sensex.
The major laggards were Bajaj Finserv, IndusInd Bank, Nestle, Tata Steel, and Bajaj Finance Bank.
Seoul, Shanghai, and Hong Kong all closed with gains in Asian markets.
European markets were trading in green.
On Thursday, the US markets finished with significant gains.
Brent crude increased 0.01 percent to $86.86 per barrel.
According to exchange data, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) continued to be net sellers in the capital markets on Thursday, offloading equities worth Rs 1,261.19 crore.
On Thursday, the BSE benchmark soared 489.57 points or 0.77 percent to 64,080.90. The Nifty gained 144.10 points or 0.76 percent to 19,133.25.
