Benchmark equity indices Sensex and Nifty ended on a mixed note on Tuesday, owing to profit-taking.
The BSE Sensex slipped 33.49 points, or 0.04 percent to 76,456.59. The NSE Nifty went up 5.65 points, or 0.02 percent to 23,264.85.
Interglobe Aviation, ICICI Lombard, Cholamandalam Invest, Adani Green Energy, Avenue Supermarts, Divi’s Labs, Adani Total Gas, Samvardhana Motherson, Trent, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Havells India were the top laggards.
Among the gainers were ONGC, IRCTC, Tata Motors-DVR, GAIL(India), Tata Motors, IRFC, IOCL, L&T, and Adani Ports.
In Asian markets, Singapore, Tokyo, South Korea, Thailand, and Taiwan concluded higher, while Hong Kong, Indonesia, Shanghai, and Malaysia closed lower.
US markets closed higher on Monday.
European stocks were trading lower.
Brent crude lost 0.06 percent to USD 81.57 per barrel.
According to exchange data, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) bought securities worth Rs 2,572.38 crore on Monday
On Monday, the Sensex sank 203.28 points, or 0.26 percent to 76,490.08, while the Nifty dropped 30.95 points, or 0.13 percent to 23,259.20.
