Karan Adani Pitches Kutch As Symbol Of India’s New Growth Story At Vibrant Gujarat 2026

At Vibrant Gujarat 2026 in Rajkot, Karan Adani outlined how India’s development journey has undergone a fundamental shift in both scale and thinking over the past decade, driven by decisive leadership and a long-term vision.

Addressing an audience that included Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, ministers and global business leaders, Adani described India’s growth as a civilisational mission rather than a collection of isolated schemes.

He said India today is not merely aspiring to grow, but is determined to lead, set global benchmarks and shape the future. Gujarat, he noted, stands as a living example of this approach, where ambition is consistently matched by execution and outcomes.

Highlighting the state’s economic profile, Adani said Gujarat contributes over 8 per cent to India’s GDP, accounts for 17 per cent of national industrial output, handles nearly 40 per cent of the country’s cargo through its ports and plays a leading role in renewable energy. Together, these indicators demonstrate what integrated development can achieve.

Gujarat’s Governance Model And India’s Economic Momentum

He traced the roots of this transformation to the period when Narendra Modi served as chief minister of Gujarat, noting that the state demonstrated early on how strong governance and swift decision-making could drive change. Even before the concept of ease of doing business became part of India’s mainstream policy vocabulary, Gujarat had already implemented it through institutional strength and respect for enterprise.

As PM Modi expanded this model nationwide by strengthening cooperative and competitive federalism, accelerating infrastructure creation and bringing stability to policymaking. This, Adani said, has positioned India as one of the world’s most attractive destinations for investment and manufacturing.

Against a backdrop of global economic uncertainty, he pointed out that India continues to grow at close to 8 per cent, is strengthening its manufacturing base and is moving confidently towards becoming a $5 trillion economy and the world’s third-largest economy.

Kutch Emerges As A Strategic Hub For Industry And Clean Energy

Within this broader national narrative, Adani described Kutch as a powerful symbol of transformation. Once seen as remote and challenging, the region has emerged as one of India’s most strategic industrial, logistics and energy hubs.

Mundra, he said, represents the Adani Group’s operational foundation and today hosts India’s largest commercial port, a fully integrated multimodal logistics gateway, the country’s largest copper smelter, a coal-to-PVC complex and a solar manufacturing facility.

He also highlighted the Khavda project, where the Adani Group is developing what is planned to be the world’s largest renewable energy park with a capacity of 37 gigawatts. The project, he said, sends a global message that economic growth, climate responsibility and energy security can advance together.

Corporate Growth Is Inseparable From National Progress

Reiterating the group’s long-standing association with the state, Karan Adani said Gujarat is not just an investment destination but the foundation of the Adani Group’s journey. He underlined the group’s belief that corporate growth is inseparable from national progress.

Looking ahead, he announced that the Adani Group is committed to investing ₹1.5 lakh crore in the Kutch region over the next five years. Plans include completing the Khavda renewable energy park and operationalising its full 37 GW capacity by 2030, as well as doubling the capacity of Mundra port over the next decade.

These investments, he said, align closely with India’s national priorities of job creation, industrial competitiveness, sustainability and long-term economic resilience.

As India advances towards the goal of a developed nation by 2047, Gujarat is expected to remain a central pillar of this transformation, with the Adani Group positioning itself as a long-term partner in building a strong, self-reliant and globally respected India.
