Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, has secured a prestigious spot in the top five cities worldwide, as per the World’s Best Awards 2025 conducted by Travel + Leisure.
Voted by international tourists, Jaipur outranked renowned cities including Florence, Italy, based on parameters such as culture, travel experience, and hospitality.
With a score of 91.33, Jaipur—popularly known as the Pink City—ranked 5th on the list.
Florence came in at 11th place with a score of 90.08. The global travel publication praised Jaipur’s luxurious hotels, vibrant culture, and exceptional shopping experiences, calling it a ‘must-see destination’.
San Miguel de Allende in Mexico topped the list of best cities in the world.
The city received high marks for its artistic ambience, affordability, centrally located museums, lush botanical gardens, and boutique shopping. It was also praised for its vibrant events calendar, including the San Miguel Writers’ Conference & Literary Festival.
Thailand’s Chiang Mai ranked second with a score of 91.94. Voters applauded the city’s rich cultural landmarks, culinary variety, high-end hotels, and easy access to natural attractions. Its balance of tradition and modern luxury contributed to its high rating.
According to Travel + Leisure, the top cities in the world are those that combine extraordinary attractions, outstanding accommodations, dynamic food scenes, and unmatched energy.
The editors noted that while many well-known cities appeared in the top 10, several unexpected entries, like Jaipur, demonstrate travellers’ growing interest in culturally rich and immersive destinations.
