More than 70 Memorandums of Understanding will be signed, both in person and electronically, by representatives of various disability sectors, according to the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment. This is a major step in the direction of promoting an inclusive society.

“These collaborations are not merely formal agreements but strategic alliances that bring tangible benefits to Divyangjan across various sectors,” said the ministry.

It further stated that this endeavor will set precedents and make major advancements toward creating a society in which every individual may live a life of fulfillment and dignity.

At least 15% of people worldwide suffer from a disability.

As per the 2011 census, 2.68 crore Indian residents are living with a disability.

There are also some niche NGOs and startups who are working to empower people with disabilities in the country.
