GIFT Nifty Records All-Time High Monthly Turnover Of $95.55 Billion In June

GIFT Nifty, traded on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), achieved a significant milestone by reaching an all-time high monthly turnover of $95.55 billion (approximately Rs 7,97,714 crore) as of 27 June.

This remarkable achievement surpasses the previous record of $91.73 billion set in May.

The benchmark also attained its highest-ever monthly turnover in terms of contract volume, with 21,23,014 contracts traded in June.

NSE stated, “This milestone reflects the growing global interest and trust in the GIFT Nifty as a benchmark for India’s growth story.”

The exchange expressed gratitude towards the participants, saying, “We are glad to witness the success of GIFT Nifty and express our sincere gratitude to all the participants for their overwhelming support and for making GIFT Nifty a successful contract.”

Since the commencement of full-scale operations on 3 July, 2023, trading turnover on NSE IX has been growing exponentially.

As of 27 June 2024, GIFT Nifty has seen a cumulative volume of over 21.06 million contracts, amounting to a total cumulative turnover of $881.26 billion.

This growth signifies the increasing global confidence in GIFT Nifty as a reliable indicator of India’s economic trajectory.
