Gautam Adani Visits Mahudi Jain Temple With Family Ahead Of Paryushan

Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani visited the revered Mahudi Jain Temple in Gandhinagar district, Gujarat, on Wednesday morning. He was accompanied by his wife, Dr Priti Adani, elder son Karan Adani and daughter-in-law Paridhi.

The family offered prayers and sought blessings ahead of Paryushan Mahaparva.

The eight-day Shwetambar Jain festival begins on September 8 and ends on September 15 with Samvatsari, the Festival of Forgiveness.

The visit reflects Gautam Adani’s longstanding philosophy of ‘Seva Hi Sadhana Hai’, meaning selfless service is the highest form of worship.

Through the Adani Foundation, Gautam Adani supports education, healthcare, livelihoods, rural development, women’s empowerment and community infrastructure. These programmes have benefited millions of people across India.

Mahudi, historically known as Madhupuri, is a prominent Shwetambar Jain pilgrimage centre. The tirth houses temples dedicated to all 24 Jain Tirthankaras. It has a separate shrine dedicated to Shri Ghantakarna Mahavir, regarded as a guardian and protector of Jainism.

Devotees worship the protective deity for strength and to overcome difficulties.

The visit comes days after US Department of Justice proceedings involving Gautam Adani, his nephew Sagar Adani, Executive Director of Adani Green Energy Limited, and others ended with the indictment being dismissed with prejudice on August 10.

Paryushan will run from September 8 to 15. The festival emphasises prayer, fasting, discipline and introspection before culminating in Samvatsari, when Jains seek forgiveness and extend it to others.

Earlier this year, Gautam Adani and Priti Adani visited the Shri Ajitnath Bhagwan Shwetamber Jain Derasar at Taranga Hills in North Gujarat on Akshaya Tritiya.

At Mahudi, the family gathered in a spirit of faith, gratitude, humility, compassion, service and forgiveness.
