Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani joined ISKCON volunteers in kitchen seva during his visit to Jagannath Puri on the occasion of Rath Yatra on Tuesday. His wife Dr Priti Adani, and son, Karan Adani, accompanied him during the spiritual visit.
The Adani family inspected the mega kitchen arrangements set up by ISKCON to serve lakhs of pilgrims with vegetarian meals (Prasadam) every day. The gesture of volunteering at the ISKCON kitchens added a deeply human and devotional touch to their visit.
Gautam Adani had earlier visited ISKCON kitchens during the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj as well, reflecting his ongoing connection with faith-based community service.
Dr Priti Adani actively took part in the seva. In a heartfelt moment, when she struggled to lift a large khamacha (utensil), Karan Adani stepped in immediately to assist her.
Devotees and volunteers witnessed the moment with admiration. It revealed the family’s strong value system rooted in humility and mutual respect.
The act showed that the Adani family values culture and service as much as success.
“Shri Gautam Adani’s willingness to step into the kitchen, even briefly, was a powerful message to all of us,” said ISKCON management. “It reminded us that true greatness lies in service, not position.”
ISKCON lauded the family’s gesture, saying their participation set a meaningful example. Their involvement in ISKCON kitchen seva reflected personal commitment to cultural and devotional service.
The spiritual act demonstrated value-based leadership. ISKCON believes it will inspire many business leaders to connect with India’s spiritual and cultural heritage in a more personal way.
