Gautam Adani, Dr Priti Adani Inaugurate New Eye Care Facility In Bihar’s Saran

Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani and Dr Priti Adani on Sunday inaugurated a new eye care hospital project in Bihar aimed at improving access to affordable treatment in rural areas.

The facility, named Adani Akhand Jyoti Eye Care Hospital, is being developed at Mastichak in Saran district through a partnership between the Adani Foundation and Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital.

The inauguration ceremony also included the Bhoomi Pujan for the upcoming medical campus, which will likely strengthen specialised eye treatment services in Bihar and nearby regions.

According to officials associated with the project, the hospital will focus on treating preventable blindness and expanding access to modern ophthalmology services for economically weaker sections of society.

The new centre will house the Adani Centre for Eye Diseases along with a dedicated training institute for ophthalmic sciences.

The initiative will likely support both medical treatment and professional training in eye care.

Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital currently operates a large healthcare network that includes multiple hospitals, regional clinics and hundreds of beds dedicated to eye treatment.

The organisation conducts a significant number of cataract and other vision-related surgeries every year and serves patients across different parts of the region.

The upcoming facility will offer treatment for conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, retinal diseases and paediatric eye disorders using advanced medical technology.

A large number of patients will likely receive free or subsidised treatment under the programme.

Rural Outreach

Project organisers said the initiative aims to strengthen healthcare access in rural and underserved communities while also contributing to wider social and economic development.

The collaboration also supports a girls’ empowerment programme that combines sports activities with technical education and healthcare training for young women from rural backgrounds. The programme aims to create employment opportunities and encourage greater participation of women in healthcare services.

With the expansion of this network, the organisations involved expect to increase the reach of specialised eye care services across northern and central India.
