Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani met Microsoft Chairman and Chief Executive Satya Nadella on Wednesday to discuss the fast-evolving potential of artificial intelligence in shaping the next era of technology.
Their meeting came at a moment when AI-driven innovation is becoming central to India’s digital ecosystem.
Adani said the interaction offered valuable insights into the rapid advances taking place in AI, particularly as physical and digital infrastructures become increasingly interlinked.
He also noted that Nadella personally demonstrated several AI applications he has been developing, describing the gesture as an example of the Microsoft chief’s practical and forward-thinking approach to leadership.
The discussion followed Microsoft’s announcement of a landmark $17.5 billion investment in India over the next four years.
The commitment, the company’s largest in Asia, aims to accelerate AI adoption by strengthening digital infrastructure, boosting skill development, and enhancing the country’s capabilities for an ‘AI-first’ future.
Nadella, currently on an AI-focused tour of India, also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence that India’s young innovators will use AI to build solutions for global challenges and contribute to sustainable development.
In a post on X, Nadella described his conversation with the Prime Minister as inspiring and reaffirmed Microsoft’s dedication to supporting India’s technological ambitions. PM Modi, responding online, welcomed the investment and said the world views India as a key force in the AI domain.
Microsoft stated that India is entering a defining phase of its AI journey, with the potential to drive large-scale impact and economic transformation.
The company emphasised that the country is now emerging as an important global hub for AI research, deployment, and innovation.
As partnerships between major industry leaders deepen, India is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the global AI landscape, supported by investment, talent, and rapidly advancing digital infrastructure.
