Taiwan-based Ennoconn Corp, a subsidiary of Foxconn, has launched its India operations. The company has registered a new entity in Tamil Nadu to tap into the growing industrial automation and digital transformation market, according to sources.
Ennoconn, the industrial PC (IPC) unit of Foxconn’s parent company, Hon Hai Precision Industry Co, manufactures embedded motherboards, computing platforms, and industrial displays. It plans to compete with Siemens, Advantech, and Rockwell Automation in India’s industrial automation sector.
Foxconn is expanding beyond iPhone assembly into AI servers and ICT products. It operates a massive iPhone plant in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, with 40,000 workers. The company is also investing ₹25,000 crore in a new electronics manufacturing facility near Doddaballapur, Karnataka.
It remains unclear if Ennoconn will use Foxconn’s Indian facilities or build its own manufacturing base. The company has not responded to queries about its plans.
Ennoconn’s India entry aligns with its broader expansion strategy. Last year, it partnered with Japan’s Sharp Corporation to develop smart retail and energy solutions across Asia.
With India’s industrial automation market growing rapidly, Ennoconn aims to strengthen its presence. The company’s foray is expected to increase competition and drive technological advancements.
