The Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) in Hyderabad recently took part in the ‘Make in India for the World’ webinar, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated.
Held on Tuesday, the post-Budget webinar aimed at fortifying India’s manufacturing sector and discussed ways to strengthen the country’s role in global production.
Industry leaders and government officials participated in the event, which the Union Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade organized.

A major focus was placed on making it easier to do business in India by improving infrastructure, access to capital, and business-friendly policies.
Additionally, participants explored the growing role of technology, skill development, and job creation in these efforts.
The webinar covered a wide range of industries, including footwear, textiles, food processing, and electronics, all of which are integral to India’s manufacturing growth.
Each sector discussed the current challenges and the role of new technological advancements in improving production efficiency.
The session also emphasized the need to bolster export capacities to make Indian products more competitive in the global market.
The importance of skill development was also underscored, particularly as new technologies and modern production techniques transform industries.
Dr. Reddy’s comments resonated with the overarching theme of the webinar, which called for an ecosystem that supports innovation, improves manufacturing standards, and fosters employment growth.
The ‘Make in India for the World’ webinar was an essential step in aligning the country’s manufacturing capabilities with the broader goals of self-reliance and global competitiveness.
It provided a platform for industry stakeholders to discuss actionable strategies to improve India’s standing in the global supply chain.
By focusing on both domestic growth and international exports, India aims to carve out a larger share of the global market and provide high-quality products worldwide.
