Dr Priti Adani Calls For Strategic Philanthropy To Drive Lasting Social Impact

Dr Priti Adani, Chairperson of the Adani Foundation, has called for greater collaboration and strategic philanthropic funding to create lasting social impact, as the Adani Foundation hosted a Welcome Dinner for nearly 2,000 delegates at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

The dinner was held during the AVPN Global Conference 2026, being hosted in India for the first time on August 25-26.

The conference brings together philanthropists, policymakers, corporates and social impact leaders from across the world to discuss solutions to complex development challenges.

Welcoming the delegates, Dr Priti Adani highlighted the importance of sharing knowledge, experiences and successful solutions. She said philanthropy must move beyond funding immediate needs towards building capacity, strengthening institutions, developing skills, supporting innovation and enabling sustainable impact.

Dr Priti Adani said grassroots entrepreneurs, skill development and local innovation are increasingly driving India’s development. With more than 2,00,000 recognised startups, she noted that innovation is spreading beyond major cities into smaller towns and villages.

Dr Priti Adani highlighted the Adani Foundation’s 30 years of grassroots work.

Established in 1996, the Foundation has reached more than 7,200 villages across 22 states and positively impacted over 13 million lives through programmes covering education, healthcare, livelihoods, skilling, disability inclusion, sports and climate action.

Dr Priti Adani cited Maharashtra’s Kiran Harinkhede as an example of how livestock and women-led dairy initiatives can create sustainable livelihoods.

The Adani family has committed ₹60,000 crore to healthcare, skilling and higher education. The commitment, however, covers Adani Health Cities, eye care, vocational training and higher education.

Dr Priti Adani urged stronger Asian collaboration and said philanthropy must empower people and institutions to create lasting change.
