NLC India’s CMD Prasanna Kumar Motupalli stated that the company expects to invest Rs 82,700 crore by 2030 to increase its power-producing capacity to 17 GW.
He told PTI that 6 GW of the 17 GW will be renewable power, with the remaining 11 GW coming from conventional sources.
In response to a query about the company’s current and future investment plans, Motupalli stated, “NLC has a target of 17 GW by 2030. Based on that we have envisaged a capex of Rs 82,700 crore”.
“At present, NLC has an installed power generation capacity of 6 GW which comprises 1.4 GW from green sources”, Motupalli continued.
The business has set a capex target of Rs 2,480 crore for the current fiscal year 2023-24, he said, adding that NLC will achieve the Ministry of Coal’s target of 80% capex utilization by December.
The Rs 19,406 crore project is a collaboration between NLC and the Uttar Pradesh government.
