The latest “India Skills Report 2025” by CII released on Tuesday estimates that 55% of Indian graduates will be job-ready for global market by 2025.
The report prepared by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) with Wheebox and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) underlines the growth in global employability of Indian graduated from 51.2 percent in 2024 to 55% in 2025, showing India’s widening role in catering global workforce demand.
Underscoring contribution of various cities in the growing global employable population in India, the study revealed that cities like Maharashtra, Karnataka and Delhi are creating employable talent. On the other hand, Pune, Bengaluru and Mumbai are leading the way in providing a skilled workforce.

Notably, management graduates has highest global employability with 78 percent. 71.5% of engineering students are ready for global job market after management followed by MCA students at 71 percent and science graduates with 58%.
On the gender front, the analysis shows that male employability is anticipated to surge while that of female is expected to shrink. The male employability will spike to 53.5 percent in 2025 from 51.8 percent in 2024. Meanwhile it will reach to 47% from 50.9% in case of female, registering contraction.
The report analysed the employability of Indian graduates based on the results of the Wheebox Global Employability Test taken by 650,000 candidates. It also found that nearly 93 per cent of the students expressed strong interest in internships
