Bharti Airtel, LIC Lead Rs 2.15 Lakh Crore Surge In Market Capitalisation

India’s largest listed companies witnessed a significant rise in market value during the week as bullish sentiment in domestic equities boosted investor confidence.

Collectively, nine of the 10 most-valued firms gained ₹2.15 lakh crore in market capitalisation, reflecting the strength of the broader market rally.

Bharti Airtel emerged as the biggest contributor to the rise in market value, with its valuation increasing by ₹52,432.67 crore to reach ₹11.63 lakh crore.

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) ranked second among the gainers, adding ₹51,675.23 crore and taking its market capitalisation to ₹5.57 lakh crore.

The technology major saw its valuation decline by ₹12,699.49 crore, bringing its market capitalisation down to ₹7.69 lakh crore.

The drop followed continued pressure on technology stocks after Accenture lowered its business outlook.

The BSE Sensex advanced by more than 1,200 points, representing a rise of 1.68 per cent.

Similarly, the NSE Nifty climbed nearly 400 points, or 1.65 per cent, ending the week at 24,013.10 as buying interest remained strong across sectors.
