Instagram services were unavailable for thousands of users on Thursday morning.
According to Downdetector, which tracks outages by collating status reports from a variety of sources, including user-submitted errors on its platform, there were over 27,000 incidents of people reporting issues with the social media platform.
The down-detector outage graph showed a spike in reports around 7 a.m. While over 50% of reported outages were due to server connectivity issues, 20% were due to login issues.
Downdetector revealed approximately 2,000 affected users from the United Kingdom, as well as over 1,000 reports from India and Australia.
Instagram is back up and running after being down for a few hours on Thursday. The server connectivity, app, and login issues that users reported have been resolved, according to Meta-owned social media.
“Earlier tonight, a technical issue caused people to have trouble accessing Instagram. We resolved this issue for everyone as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience. #instagramdown,” Instagram public relations team wrote on Twitter.
According to Downdetector, a website that tracks reports of outages, over 50,000 users reported problems with the social media platform. At around 7 a.m., the Downdetector outage graph showed a spike in reports. In India, it peaked at 8:30 a.m., with over 3,000 people reporting that Instagram was unavailable to them.
While over 50% of users reported server connectivity issues, 20% reported login issues.

Users all over the world were affected by the outage of photo-sharing and social networking services. Instagram was reported to be down for over 46,000 users in the United States, in addition to India. Furthermore, over 3,000 users in the United Kingdom reported difficulties accessing the Downdetector service.
