Adani Power Delivers Strong FY25 Results With Record Power Generation & Revenue Growth

Adani Power Limited, a key entity within the Adani Group, announced a strong financial and operational performance for the financial year 2024-25 (FY25), with record-breaking power generation and improved earnings across core metrics.

The company posted a 21.4% increase in consolidated continuing profit before tax (PBT), rising to ₹13,926 crore in FY25 from ₹11,470 crore in FY24.

This growth was primarily driven by enhanced EBITDA and lower finance costs.

Consolidated total revenue from continuing operations also rose by 10.8% year-on-year, reaching ₹56,473 crore, supported by increased sales volumes.

Quarterly Performance & Growth Drivers

In Q4 FY25, Adani Power reported a 5.3% increase in consolidated continuing total revenue at ₹14,522 crore compared to ₹13,787 crore in Q4 FY24.

While the company faced lower tariff realisation, higher volumes compensated for the impact.

However, Q4 PBT declined to ₹3,248 crore due to increased depreciation costs stemming from new asset acquisitions and a moderation in power demand and merchant tariffs.

Adani Power reported a net profit of ₹2,599 crore for the quarter, slightly lower than the previous year’s figures, which exceptional items like asset sales and government refunds had boosted.

Record Power Generation & Capacity Expansion

A major highlight of FY25 was the company’s power generation achievement, which reached a record 102.2 billion units (BU), up 19.5% from 85.5 BU in FY24.

Consolidated power sale volume also jumped 20.7% year-on-year to 95.9 BU.

In Q4 FY25 alone, power sale volume stood at 26.4 BU- an 18.9% increase from the same quarter last year, driven by surging power demand and expanded operational capacity.

CEO S B Khyalia attributed the performance to the company’s focus on operational efficiency and strategic growth.

“We are swiftly entering our next phase of capacity expansion while ensuring capital discipline and sectoral leadership,” he said.

Strengthened Operating Capacity

Adani Power’s consolidated operating capacity rose from 15,250 MW in FY24 to 17,550 MW in FY25.

Adani Power achieved this by acquiring key assets, including the 1,200 MW Moxie Power Generation Ltd, 600 MW Korba Power Ltd, and 500 MW Adani Dahanu Thermal Power Station..

Khyalia further added, “Our long-term strategy is underpinned by sustainability and innovation, ensuring we remain one of the top-performing thermal power producers globally.”

Adani Power leverages its robust fundamentals and expanding footprint to capitalise on the rising energy demand in India.

The company continues to focus on capacity addition and operational excellence to strengthen its leadership in the thermal power sector and sustain long-term growth.
