Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) has earned the ‘Legend (Emerging)’ distinction in the Environmental Sustainability category at the 21st EXCEED Environment Awards 2026 for its Mundra facility.
The honour recognises organisations that demonstrate sustained efforts to protect the environment while incorporating responsible practices into their business operations.
The Sustainable Development Mission organised the EXCEED Environment Awards under the Central government’s Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE) initiative.
The programme acknowledges institutions and businesses that promote environmental stewardship and sustainable development.
APSEZ Mundra has introduced several measures across its operations to improve resource efficiency and support environmental conservation.
The company said the award reflects its approach of incorporating environmental considerations into its day-to-day activities while pursuing sustainable value creation.
APSEZ stated that the recognition strengthens its efforts to operate its ports responsibly and contribute to India’s broader environmental and climate-related objectives.
The company has placed greater emphasis on sustainability as part of its long-term operational approach.
According to its latest financial update, 12 APSEZ ports have secured Zero Waste to Landfill certification, highlighting efforts to improve waste management.
APSEZ has additionally adopted the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) framework.
The company said it became the first Indian firm in the integrated transport utility sector to adopt the framework.
Mundra is APSEZ’s flagship port and one of its most important facilities in Gujarat.
The company has continued investing in infrastructure and operational improvements at the facility while maintaining its focus on sustainable practices.
The latest EXCEED award places APSEZ Mundra among the organisations recognised for environmental initiatives in 2026.
The honour is expected to further encourage the company’s focus on conservation, responsible resource consumption and sustainable growth.
