Adani Ports Jumps 3.10%, Ambuja Cements Gains 3.08% As Markets Rebound

Adani Group shares climbed on Friday as benchmark equity indices staged a strong recovery, with the Sensex and Nifty closing more than 1 per cent higher.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone led the group’s gains among Nifty 50 constituents, rising 3.10 per cent to Rs 1,761.

The stock touched an intraday high of Rs 1,770, marking a rise of 3.62 per cent from its previous close.

Adani Enterprises advanced 1.48 per cent to Rs 2,634.40 after reaching an intraday peak of Rs 2,653.

Ambuja Cements gained 3.08 per cent to Rs 351.50, while Adani Green Energy rose 1.63 per cent to Rs 1,255.80.

Reliance Industries declined 0.65 per cent to Rs 1,170.30, while BSE Ltd fell 1.43 per cent to Rs 3,287.20.

Apollo Hospitals, ITC, Eicher Motors, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and HCLTech ranked among the leading Nifty gainers, recording advances of up to 4.72 per cent.

The Nifty IT index led sectoral performance with a gain of around 3 per cent. The MidSmall IT and Telecom index advanced 2.56 per cent, while FMCG shares rose 2.20 per cent.

Technology stocks attracted buying interest following reports that the US Department of Labour had suspended eight major technology and outsourcing companies, including Infosys, Tata, Wipro and HCLTech, from the Permanent Labour Certification Programme (PERM), halting new and pending green card sponsorship applications for them.

The Nifty Oil and Gas index was the only sectoral loser, slipping 0.09 per cent.

The Sensex finished 879.09 points higher at 72,472.33, while the Nifty gained 288.65 points to settle at 22,520.45, ending their two-session losing streak.
