Adani Group’s $100 Billion AI Data Centre Plan Could Transform India’s Global Tech Standing

Mega infrastructure projects such as the Adani Group’s $100 billion plan to build renewable-powered, AI-ready hyperscale data centres by 2035 could significantly reshape India’s standing in the global artificial intelligence economy, according to an article published on CarbonCredits.com.

The report notes that the scale of investment is unprecedented.

Adani’s direct commitment of $100 billion is expected to attract an additional $150 billion across sectors, including server manufacturing, advanced electrical systems and sovereign cloud platforms.

Together, this could create a $250 billion AI infrastructure ecosystem in India over the next decade.

The Adani Group operates 2 GW of data centres and plans to scale up to 5 GW, potentially making India a major renewable-powered AI hub.

The rollout will integrate renewable energy, transmission, storage and hyperscale computing to meet rising AI power demands, with racks drawing over 30 kW each.

The Group has partnered with Google to build a gigawatt-scale AI data centre campus in Visakhapatnam.

The Group has also partnered with Microsoft for major campuses in Hyderabad and Pune.

Adani is in talks with Flipkart to build another AI-focused facility for digital commerce and large-scale workloads. These partnerships highlight India’s appeal for global tech investment.

The expansion centres on the 30 GW Khavda renewable project in Gujarat, with over 10 GW operational. The Group has pledged $55 billion more for renewables and battery storage.

By linking AI growth to clean energy, Adani addresses rising power and emission concerns. It also plans domestic manufacturing of key equipment to cut import dependence.

The project supports data sovereignty and could position India as an exporter of next-generation AI infrastructure.
