Adani Group Joins Puri Rath Yatra With Devotion And Service

The historic and spiritual grandeur of the Puri Rath Yatra reached a new height this year with the wholehearted participation of the Adani Group.

Commencing on the second day of the bright fortnight of the Ashadha month, the grand chariot festival attracted millions of devotees from India and around the world to witness the majestic procession of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra.

Gautam Adani shares emotional message

At 9:37 AM, Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, posted a heartfelt message on the social media platform.

Taking to X, he posted, “By the boundless grace of Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath, we have been blessed with the opportunity to serve during the sacred Rath Yatra at Puri Dham.”

Gautam Adani emphasised that the event is not just a tradition, but a celebration of devotion, service, and surrender. He also affirmed the Adani family’s full commitment to serving the pilgrims.

Launch of ‘Prasad Seva’ in Puri

Adani Group’s involvement in the Puri Rath Yatra 2025 follows its earlier spiritual service efforts, including the ‘Mahaprasad Seva’ at the Prayagraj Mahakumbh, where the group provided free meals to over 5 million pilgrims.

In Puri, the group launched the ‘Prasad Seva’ initiative to serve clean, nutritious, and lovingly prepared meals to all devotees.

Gautam Adani stated, “With the resolve that every devotee receives food that is clean, nutritious, and served with love, we have begun the ‘Prasad Seva’ in Puri Dham.”

The group, in collaboration with local authorities and religious institutions, plans to distribute refreshing sherbet and prasadam to more than 3 million pilgrims.

Majestic chariot procession draws a massive crowd

The main highlight of the day was the grand procession of the three divine chariots—Nandighosha (for Lord Jagannath), Taladhwaj (for Balabhadra), and Darpadalana (for Subhadra).

Devotees flooded the Grand Road in Puri to pull the beautifully decorated chariots, chanting ‘Jai Jagannath’ as they tugged at the sacred ropes.

This centuries-old tradition symbolises the auspicious journey of the deities to the Gundicha Temple.

The towering spire of the Jagannath Temple in the backdrop added to the magnificence of the festival.

The Skanda Purana describes this Rath Yatra as the most significant among the twelve annual chariot festivals, and it draws devotees from across the globe.

Message of service and unity

Gautam Adani highlighted the spirit of service, stating, “Serving humanity is serving God; service is our spiritual practice.”

He expressed pride in being a humble servant on this sacred land.

Employees of the Adani Group and their families actively contributed to the success of the event.

Social media platforms were flooded with messages of appreciation, gratitude, and chants of ‘Jai Jagannath’.

While a few voices raised unrelated concerns about the group’s business activities, the overall public response remained overwhelmingly positive.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and the Shri Jagannath Temple Administration praised the Adani Group’s contribution, calling it a key element in preserving the dignity and smooth execution of the festival.

As the chariots now move towards the Gundicha Temple, the sacred land of Puri continues to echo with the powerful chants of ‘Jai Jagannath’, while the Adani Group’s service enhances the spiritual experience for millions of devotees.
