Adani Group Extends Seva To Puri Rath Yatra After Maha Kumbh

After serving millions during the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj earlier this year, the Adani Group has now extended its seva (service) initiative to the Rath Yatra festival in Puri, Odisha.

The Group announced on Thursday that it will support both pilgrims and frontline workers during the nine-day festival from June 26 to July 8.

Millions to receive free meals and beverages

The Adani Group has planned to distribute nearly 4 million free meals and drinks to devotees and officials.

Volunteers have set up food counters across Puri to serve nutritious meals, while beverage stalls provide cool drinks to help people cope with the region’s intense summer heat.

The Group has also partnered with the Puri Beach Lifeguard Mahasangha to support beach safety operations.

Volunteers are actively working to clean the beach and remove plastic waste.

To aid workers and volunteers, Adani is distributing free T-shirts, fluorescent safety vests for sanitation staff, and rain gear such as jackets, caps, umbrellas, and raincoats for municipal workers and pilgrims.

The initiative is being carried out in close collaboration with the Puri district administration, ISKCON, and local community groups.

The Adani Group mobilised volunteers from both its internal teams and local communities, led by experienced coordinators with strong roots in the region.

Planning for the effort began months in advance.

A broader commitment to spiritual & social engagement

The Adani Foundation, which has long been active in Odisha through healthcare, education, and rural development, views this effort as part of its larger mission to support India’s cultural and spiritual heritage.

Sources within the Group emphasised that this form of corporate social responsibility (CSR) goes beyond business interests and infrastructure.

“This is about engaging directly with people’s faith and traditions,” one official said.

Gautam Adani leads by example

Earlier this year, during the Maha Kumbh Mela, the Adani Group partnered with ISKCON and Gita Press to provide food and assistance to lakhs of pilgrims.

On January 21, Chairman Gautam Adani personally took part in serving food, reflecting the Group’s guiding belief that ‘Seva Hi Sadhana Hai’ (Service is Worship).

Adani Group continues to demonstrate that social service is not a one-time event, but a sustained mission rooted in community engagement and spiritual service.
