The Adani Group will invest ₹1.5 lakh crore in Gujarat’s Kachchh region over the next five years, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to the state.
The announcement was made by Karan Adani, Managing Director of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited, at an event in Rajkot attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Karan Adani said Gujarat is not just an investment destination for the group but the very foundation of its journey.
He noted that the group’s growth philosophy remains closely aligned with the nation’s development, reflecting a balance between economic expansion, climate responsibility, and energy security.
As part of the expansion plans, the Adani Group will also double the port capacity at Mundra over the next ten years.
Mundra Port plays a critical role in trade, logistics and global connectivity, and the proposed expansion will further strengthen Gujarat’s position as a major economic hub.
The planned investments in Kachchh will generate employment, drive regional development, and improve infrastructure across ports, logistics and energy sectors.
Karan Adani praised Gujarat’s governance framework, stating that the state demonstrated ease of doing business in practice long before it became a national policy focus. He attributed this to faster decision-making, strong institutions, and a supportive environment for enterprise.
He added that Prime Minister Modi later scaled this governance model nationwide through cooperative and competitive federalism, creating a more growth-oriented ecosystem across India.
The announcement coincided with the inauguration of a trade show ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Rajkot, aimed at showcasing investment opportunities and reinforcing Gujarat’s role in India’s economic growth story.
The proposed investment underlines confidence in Gujarat’s development trajectory and signals the Adani Group’s continued focus on building sustainable, large-scale infrastructure to support India’s long-term growth.
