Adani Green Energy Secures Highest ESG Score In India With CareEdge 1+ Rating

Adani Green Energy Limited has secured the highest ESG score among Indian companies assessed by CareEdge ESG Ratings Limited. The company achieved a score of 87.3 and received the top-tier CareEdge-ESG 1+ rating.

The evaluation establishes AGEL as a benchmark leader in environmental, social, and governance performance within the Indian corporate landscape. The rating reflects the company’s strong positioning relative to industry peers.

CareEdge-ESG conducted the assessment through a comprehensive framework. It analysed ESG risks and opportunities across multiple parameters and benchmarked AGEL against comparable entities.

The report highlights AGEL’s excellence in governance practices, climate strategy, and resource management. It notes robust performance in climate risk mitigation, water conservation, waste handling, and biodiversity protection.

The agency also emphasised the company’s transparent disclosures and structured oversight.

Board-level supervision and clearly defined policies have strengthened accountability and operational discipline.

AGEL has integrated ESG considerations across its enterprise. It has implemented systematic management frameworks to address environmental and social risks effectively. These mechanisms support long-term sustainability and resilience.

The recognition also reflects a broader transformation within the Adani Group.

The group has increasingly embedded ESG principles across its infrastructure-driven portfolio, including renewable energy, logistics, ports, and utilities.

This strategic shift has influenced governance standards, risk management systems, and capital deployment decisions across its businesses.

The high ESG rating strengthens AGEL’s standing among global investors and financial institutions. It enhances the company’s ability to access sustainable and transition-linked funding.

In a capital environment where sustainability metrics influence investment decisions, the rating is expected to support AGEL’s expansion. It will facilitate funding for large-scale renewable energy projects and reinforce investor confidence.

The achievement underscores AGEL’s commitment to responsible growth and sustainable infrastructure development.
