Adani Gramotsav Celebrates Rural Sports; Creativity And Folk Traditions In Mirzapur

Adani Gramotsav brought villagers together for two days of sports, cultural performances and creative activities in Dadhiram village, Mirzapur district, Uttar Pradesh, on October 11-12, 2026.

The festival aimed to strengthen community participation, encourage rural sports, showcase local talent and preserve the region’s rich cultural heritage.

The organisers opened the festival with traditional prayers and a ceremonial lamp-lighting by guests, setting an enthusiastic tone for the celebrations.

On the first day, villagers of all age groups took part in various sporting and cultural activities. Six boys’ teams and four girls’ teams competed in tug-of-war, demonstrating teamwork and sporting spirit.

The organisers held a rangoli competition on the theme Apna Gaon (Our Village) to showcase rural life, traditions and local identity through art. Four teams participated, and the judges awarded first, second and third places to the top performers.

Regional folk music formed another major attraction. Local singers performed traditional Kajri and Birha songs, celebrating the region’s musical heritage and highlighting the importance of passing these traditions on to future generations.

On the second day, the organisers conducted ball-throw competitions for men and women. They selected two winners from each category and honoured them with prizes.

Folk performances continued throughout the day, further strengthening cultural connections among villagers.

The event welcomed village heads Vyas Ji Bind of Tonga, Ram Sagar Bharti of Thanapur, Rajesh Prajapati of Dadhiram and Mangal Rai of Sukhnai. Retired Dadhiram teacher Yamuna Prasad also attended the event.

Representatives from Adani Foundation, the land acquisition department and HelpAge India attended the festival. Adani Gramotsav united villagers through sports, art, music and local traditions.
