The Adani Foundation has partnered with the National Institute of Education International to organise and run the STEM Leadership Programme at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
Temasek Foundation, Singapore, will train 42 teachers from six Adani Foundation Schools as master trainers to foster STEM leadership in the Indian context through this programme.
This programme will last three years (from April 2023 to December 2025) and will be divided into six segments. The first phase, which is already underway, is slated from April 14 to 16.
Except for the fifth session, all phases of training would be led by eight NIE specialists in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This will comprise a baseline analysis of the status of STEM education in Gujarat and the profile of STEM industries, the development of an integrated STEM curriculum, the development of leadership in Gujarat STEM curriculum through online and in-person workshops, and the sharing of master trainers’ learnings. During the three-day national conference, their experiences will also be discussed.
Participants will go to Singapore during the fifth phase to participate in hands-on workshops on emerging technologies and innovation at Singapore universities and STEM enterprises. They will go to Singapore schools and interact with instructors to learn about STEM topics. This will result in the building of a robust STEM educator network in Singapore and India.
This integrated STEM curriculum framework will be designed and developed with the Indian environment in mind, in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Standards, assessment tools, recommended methodologies, and proposed activities will be included. This complete framework will also be presented and recommended for implementation in several of the country’s educational boards.
STEM education has enormous potential to grow and empower pupils in the country’s schools. It is perfectly suited to pique the interest of young minds in order to become experts capable of understanding diverse disciplines and finding new solutions to real-world challenges.
The STEM Leadership Programme is an extension of the Adani Foundation’s efforts to make high-quality education available to as many youngsters as possible. The Foundation also manages the Smart Learning programme, which works with a number of free and subsidized schools across the country.
The Adani Foundation, the Adani Group’s community outreach and engagement arm, is committed to making smart social investments that will deliver long-term effects across India.
Since its inception in 1996, the Foundation has prioritized education, health, sustainable livelihoods, skill development, and community infrastructure.
