Adani Foundation Gives 64 Beneficiaries Their First-Ever Flight Experience

In a groundbreaking gesture of empowerment, the Adani Foundation, in collaboration with Adani Electricity, granted over 64 beneficiaries their first-ever air travel experience.

The initiative, timed with the commercial launch of the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), included women from the Swabhimaan project, students from the Adani Skill Development Centre (ASDC) in Kosbad-Dahanu, retired army officers, senior citizens from Navi Mumbai villages, health workers, and winners of a creative drawing competition.

Adani Foundation Chairperson Dr Priti Adani and Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani personally interacted with the participants, highlighting the day.

Their presence added an emotional resonance, leaving participants feeling not only acknowledged but celebrated.

“Flying during the inaugural commercial operations of NMIA was surreal. Watching Mumbai and Alibaug unfold beneath me from 11,600 feet felt like entering a cinematic world,” said Harshada Gadekar, a Swabhimaan beneficiary.

She added, “Meeting Gautam Adani and Dr Priti Adani was an honour that made us feel truly valued. Today, we feel more than beneficiaries; we feel extraordinary.”

Ajit Dhadga, a student at ASDC Kosbad, shared his excitement: “Living near Adani Dahanu Thermal Power Station, I’ve always admired large-scale operations. Experiencing the flight deck and boarding firsthand has brought aviation within my reach. This day fuels my ambitions and inspires my professional journey.”

Swabhimaan began in 2022 and has actively advanced women’s empowerment and livelihood creation. It delivers Entrepreneurship Development Programs (EDPs) to underprivileged women, fostering their independence and confidence.

A spokesperson from the Adani Foundation stated, “True empowerment transcends livelihoods. It is about dignity and opening doors to unimagined possibilities. Today’s initiative tells our beneficiaries their dreams matter and are achievable.”

Adani Electricity echoed this sentiment, highlighting the broader impact: “Powering lives extends beyond electricity; it illuminates the path to progress.
