Adani Energy Secures Rs 2,800 Crore Transmission Project For Green Hydrogen Push In Gujarat

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) has won a significant power transmission project in Gujarat that will facilitate the supply of green energy for manufacturing Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia in Mundra.

The company announced on Friday that it will likely complete the ₹2,800 crore project within 36 months.

Titled ‘Transmission System for Green Hydrogen/Ammonia Manufacturing Potential in Mundra, Gujarat’, the project involves upgrading the Navinal (Mundra) substation by installing two 765/400kV transformers.

A 75 km long 765kV double-circuit transmission line will also be constructed, linking the Navinal substation to the Bhuj substation.

The project will enhance AESL’s network by adding 150 circuit kilometers (cKM) of transmission lines and 3,000 MVA of transformation capacity, bringing its total to 25,928 cKM and 87,186 MVA.

AESL secured the project through the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route, with PFC Consulting Limited acting as the bid process coordinator.

However, authorities officially handed over the project’s special purpose vehicle (SPV) to AESL on 20 March 2025.

This marks AESL’s sixth order win in the current financial year, pushing its total orderbook value to Rs 57,561 crore.

Part of the Adani portfolio, AESL operates across power transmission, distribution, smart metering, and cooling solutions.

It is currently India’s largest private transmission company and serves around 13 million customers across Mumbai and the Mundra SEZ.

The company is also rapidly scaling up its smart metering operations, aiming to become the country’s top smart metering integrator.

Through network expansion, green power integration, and customer-focused solutions, AESL continues to transform energy delivery across India.
