Adani Electricity Cuts AT&C Losses To 4.46%; Among India’s Lowest

Adani Electricity has reduced its Aggregate Technical and Commercial (AT&C) losses to 4.46 per cent in FY 2025-26 from 4.70 per cent in the previous financial year, placing the utility among the distribution companies with the lowest AT&C losses in India, according to a company statement issued on Tuesday.

The utility said the 0.24 percentage point reduction across its network will help ease the financial burden on honest, paying consumers while improving operational efficiency.

During FY 2025-26, Adani Electricity carried out 36,720 mass raids and registered 486 First Information Reports (FIRs) against individuals involved in power theft.

The company also increased odd-timing raids by 40 per cent, targeting early mornings, late evenings and holidays to strengthen surveillance.

The vigilance teams booked 5,897 cases of power theft and recovered 79.25 tonnes of illegal wire during the operations.

The company assessed theft of 19.82 million units of electricity, valued at Rs 43.39 crore.

Among the major detections, Adani Electricity booked a Rs 1.63 crore theft case involving direct power supply for moulding activity at Swastik Compound, Chincholi Bandar Road, Malad (West) on 7 November 2025.

Another Rs 80 lakh case was registered at Motilal Nagar, Goregaon (West) on 4 July 2025, while a separate theft worth Rs 48.73 lakh was detected in Malad (East) in June.

Under Section 135 of the Electricity Act, 2003, electricity theft is a non-bailable offence punishable with a fine, imprisonment of up to three years, or both upon conviction.

A company spokesperson said the intensified drive protects infrastructure, supports competitive tariffs and safeguards the interests of legitimate consumers.
