Adani Cement, in collaboration with its Group associate PSP Infra, announced on Thursday the successful completion of the world’s largest religious temple raft foundation at Umiya Dham near Jaspur.
The massive foundation, measuring 450 feet by 400 feet and 8 feet in depth, will support 1,551 Dharma Stambhs for the 504-feet-tall Jagat Janani Maa Umiya Temple, set to become the tallest temple in the world and the spiritual heart of an expansive social and cultural campus.
Adani Cement completed the record-breaking project in a continuous 54-hour operation, using 24,100 cubic metres of its proprietary low-carbon ‘ECOMaxX M45’ concrete.
Vinod Bahety, CEO of Adani Cement, stated, “Umiya Dham is set to become an iconic spiritual landmark, spanning 60 acres and representing an investment of approximately Rs 2,000 crore. This project is not just about setting world records; it embodies the quality, scale, speed, and purpose that define Adani Cement.”
“As our Chairman believes, these are not just engineering feats, but bridges between devotion and modern infrastructure. The successful raft casting at Umiya Dham is a living testament to this philosophy: where faith drives innovation, and innovation uplifts entire communities. When we unite innovation, people, and sustainable materials, we create solutions that endure for generations and set new global benchmarks,” he further added.
The operation utilised 26 strategically located Ready-Mix Concrete (RMX) plants, over 285 transit mixers, 3,600 tonnes of high-performance cement, and more than 600 skilled workers and technical experts operating in shifts over three days.
The team carefully managed the process to ensure continuous pouring, avoiding cold joints while maintaining consistent temperature and concrete quality throughout.
The use of ‘ECOMaxX’ concrete reduced the project’s carbon footprint, reflecting Adani Cement’s commitment to sustainable construction.
The mix incorporates 66 per cent Supplementary Cementitious Material (SCM), cutting carbon emissions by 60 per cent.
Proprietary Coolcrete technology kept temperatures below 28 degrees Celsius, reducing thermal stress, while embedded thermocouples continue to monitor the foundation’s durability in real time.
RP Patel, President of the Vishv Umiya Foundation, described the foundation as a proud milestone for India’s cultural and engineering heritage, noting, “Adani Cement’s proven expertise in mega-project execution made them our natural partner.”
Adani Cement, which has previously contributed to iconic structures such as the World One Tower and the Chenab Railway Bridge in Jammu and Kashmir, now extends its engineering expertise to spiritual infrastructure with the Umiya Dham Temple.
