‘A Monumental Day For India’: Gautam Adani On Partnership With Google To Build Nation’s Largest AI Data Centre

Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani announced on Tuesday that the conglomerate is joining forces with Google to build India’s largest artificial intelligence (AI) data centre campus in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

Adani Enterprises, through its joint venture AdaniConneX, has partnered with Google in a landmark initiative to create a vast AI data centre and accompanying green energy infrastructure in the coastal city.

Calling it ‘a monumental day for India’, Gautam Adani said the new facility would be purpose-built to meet the demanding requirements of AI computing.

Taking to X, the Adani Group Chairman posted, “This facility will house the TPU and GPU-based compute power required for deep learning, neural network training, and large-scale AI model inference and create an ecosystem that accelerates AI-driven solutions for India’s most critical sectors – from healthcare and agriculture to logistics and finance.”

“We are honoured to be building the engine to power India’s AI revolution, providing the tools for our nation’s brightest minds to solve complex challenges,” he added.

According to Google, the AI hub represents an estimated $15 billion investment over five years, from 2026 to 2030.

The plan includes gigawatt-scale data centre operations supported by a resilient subsea cable network and renewable energy systems to handle India’s growing AI computing needs.

The company said in a statement that it will execute the project in close coordination with ecosystem partners, including AdaniConneX and Airtel.

The Google AI hub, built in partnership with AdaniConneX, will feature a custom-designed infrastructure that significantly boosts India’s compute capacity and marks a major step in advancing the country’s AI capabilities.

Google Highlights Strategic Importance

Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian noted that the collaboration would bring advanced infrastructure closer to Indian communities and customers.

“By working with Adani, we will bring our cutting-edge resources closer to communities and customers alike, and offer them the performance, security, and scalability to innovate and thrive on a global stage,” he stated.
