Never Sleep With Your Head Pointing North, Here’s Why

We all desire a restful night’s sleep, and many of us take proactive measures to increase our chances of getting one. There are several adjustments you can make to your daily routine to assist enhance the quality of your sleep, such as limiting screen time before bed, painting your bedroom walls a soothing color, or purchasing a supportive mattress. Yet, have you ever thought about turning over in bed?

Many ancient traditions, including Vastu Shastra, believe that sleeping with your feet toward the north will improve your quality of sleep, and current research backs up that assertion.

Vastu is extremely important in Indian culture and tradition. It is possible to walk into a room and not experience a lot of energy. This could be because of the Vastu dosh of the location. Vastu Shastra asserts that every individual is inextricably linked to nature. When there are any imbalances and ambiguities in this connection, it is referred to as Vastu dosh.

It is critical to observe the various Vastu guidelines when building your home. This will allow positive energy to enter your home. When there is positive energy in your home, you will experience favorable results. Vastu Shastra specifies various regulations, such as the direction your kitchen should face and where you should position your mirror. Similarly, Vastu Shastra specifies the direction you should not sleep.

Sleeping in the appropriate direction is essential for getting a good night’s sleep. A good night’s sleep is also highly important since it allows you to effortlessly accomplish all of the other activities of the day. However, if you don’t get a decent night’s sleep, it usually has an impact on both your physical and mental health.

Drawing on Hindu mythology, the concept is based on the idea that living organisms are designed to be in harmony with the energy of the universe, and thus the human body, like the Earth, has its own north and south poles.

According to Vastu Shastra, it is not advisable to sleep with one’s head toward the North. This means you should avoid sleeping with your body oriented north to south. The head is thought to have a polar attraction. As a result, it is critical that you avoid the north side and, preferably, face southwards while sleeping to attract the opposite pole.

This means that some people believe the Earth’s magnetic field has an impact on sleep quality.

While some research has shown that sleeping in this south-to-north direction can lower blood pressure (thus improving sleep), there isn’t much scientific evidence to back up the claim.
