Chaitra Navratri Day 7: All About Maa Kalratri , Know Puja Vidhi, Mantras, Color

Chaitra Navratri is a nine-day festival celebrated across India with great devotion and enthusiasm. The seventh day of the festival, which falls on March 28, is dedicated to Maa Kalratri, also known as Shubankari, who is believed to govern the planet Shani.

Maa Kalratri

Maa Kalratri is portrayed as having a dark black complexion, riding a donkey, and having four hands. She has a sword and a lethal iron hook in her left hand, and her right hands are in the Abhaya and Varada Mudras. She is also known as Goddess Shubhankari due to the auspicious power she possesses within her ferocious form.

Color

Red is the most popular color of Chunri donated to the Goddess on the seventh day of Chaitra Navratri since it is connected to Maa Kalratri. Red represents passion and heat, and it instills vigour and vitality in the wearer.

Puja Vidhi

The seventh day of Navratri is dedicated to Maa Kalratri, and people fast for the entire day, offer bhog to Goddesses, pray, and sing devotional songs. It is recommended that devotees present Goddess Kalratri with night-blooming jasmine. Devotees may also bring Ganga jal, panchamitra, dried fruits, and rice.

The Goddess mantra is “Om Devi Kalaratryai Namah,” The Maa Kalratri prathana and stuti are also recited during the puja. Several daily-used cosmetics are donated to the Goddess during the shringar puja. These things are further divided into two parts, one of which is offered to God and the other of which is kept by the followers as Prasad.
