Case Of Extortion And Murderous Attack On Rohtash Nagar BJP MLA, Police In Dock For Not Detaining The Suspect

The arrest of BJP MLA Jitendra Mahajan on the charge of extortion for two crores has impacted the Delhi BJP’s problems. On the one hand, the Aam Aadmi Party is calling for his arrest, while a group of BJP leaders is considering legal action.

The Aam Aadmi Party’s campaign has begun to increase the BJP’s troubles after initiating a case against BJP Lawmaker Jitendra Mahajan from Rohtash Nagar for illegally recovering two crores from a drug dealer and a homicidal attack on him. The AAP leader has also called for the arrest of the MLA. On the other hand, a section of the BJP wants the MLA punished at the organisational level in this matter. It is also claimed that the police are not arresting the BJP MLA because of political pressure.

Case filed against MLA

The North Eastern District Police have charged BJP MLA Jitendra Mahajan of Rohtash Nagar with murder in connection with the illegal recovery of two crores from a drug dealer. Despite the fact that the case was filed under the non-bailable section, he has not been arrested. According to sources, the case was only filed after top leaders of the ruling BJP gave their approval. However, the Delhi Police is still seen standing in the dock for failing to take arrest action.

Question on Jyoti Nagar Police

On February 06, the assailants tried to kill Durgapuri’s drug dealer Basant Goyal by firing at him. But in this case Jyoti Nagar police did not record the statement of the drug dealer. Rather, on the statement of a policeman, a case was registered under minor sections. Because suspicion was being expressed on BJP MLA Jitendra Mahajan for this incident. It has gone so far that the police filed a case against the drug dealer on the complaint of the MLA about one year old. If sources are to be believed, this action was taken under the pressure of a BJP leader who is in charge of Delhi in this matter.

Police got green signal

Sources say that the businessman, who was hurt by this action of the police, made the top leaders of the BJP and the Sangh aware of the reality along with the facts, and they too were stunned. This was the reason that instead of interfering in this matter, the top leaders gave permission to the police to take legal action. After which, on May 28, on the basis of the complaint of the drug dealer, a case was registered against MLA Jitendra Mahajan under section 387 of IPC at Jyoti Nagar police station. This Act provides for punishment of imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven years if any person is put in fear of death or grievous hurt, in order to commit extortion. It comes under the category of non-bailable cognizable offense and is triable by a first class magistrate.

Now pointing fingers at the police

Surprisingly, the police have registered a case in this matter, but have not arrested the MLA in this matter. This is the reason why the Aam Aadmi Party has started a campaign for the arrest of the MLA. Former MLA from the area and president of AAP’s Mahila Morcha, Sarita Singh, besides protesting in this matter, has also plastered the walls of the area with posters.

Delhi BJP in confusion

If BJP sources are to be believed, a meeting of BJP MLAs was held in this matter last week. After which pressure has been made on the police not to arrest the BJP MLA. On the other hand, a section of BJP leaders wants that action should be taken in this matter at the organization level. Otherwise, the image of suchita’s party will be tarnished.
