BBC Attack On Modi : More A Conspiracy Than A Controversy

BBC or British Broadcast Corporation. This is a brand of authenticity in the global news business. Now the BBC seems to be enjoying its kind of successful attempt to stir the tranquility of the persona of India’s most loved prime minister, Narendra Modi.

Recently a film by BBC has invited lots of controversy regarding the film cum documentary. The name of this documentary is “India: The Modi Question”. Obviously, the film is centered around the 2002 Gujrat riots. Though as a journalist and an author, I have not watched it yet, still I can see more than three hundred journalists, leaders, and officers condemning it through their statements.

The documentary cum so called film shows Modi as the responsible person or reason behind Gujarat riots and the killings in the audio-visual khichri. Long dead statement about Modi by Congress Prez Sonia Gandhi –  “merchant of death” has been encashed in the ‘flick’ as a desperate attempt to show it as the Indian PM’s signature image statement. Resultantly the attempt was strongly condemned by BJP leaders in India.

More unfortunately than sadly, BBC seems to be suffering from an imperialist mentality. India is no more a colony of United Kingdom. Now the simple Indian argument says that when the Supreme Court of India has proved Modi innocent, then on what ground does BBC support Sonia Gandhi’s acidic words in the film? Even the Indians who are living in London, are protesting against this documentary film and are also knocking on the legal doors. An authentic opinion by me can be expressed only after watching the film. Nevertheless, I would say, the truth is bigger than the lies, I know.

The whole world knows the transparent fact that both Hindus and Muslims were killed during the riots in Gujarat. Initially, when the riots started, no body could predict this would take such a terrible form. Obviously, the government itself had no idea that this bloodshed can go too beyond their control. The only coincidence which helped the opposition blame Modi was that it was only a short time before Narendra Modi appeared as the state Chief Minister. The then CM had no previous experience of running a government or facing such an extreme situation.

One figure shows that more than one thousand people were killed during the riots in the state in 2002. And the fact of being hurt in large numbers belongs to Hindus or Muslims -is still not known. It was painful to see nationalism not only getting violated but also crushed in Gujarat. Here, it comes on the part of the king to protect his subjects in any situation and also comes on the part of the denizens to trust the king.

Rajdharma was followed in Gujarat

Rajdharma must be followed!” The well-known sentence uttered by the then PM, Atal Bihari Vajpayee was followed by the then CM of Gujrat. Now after 20-21 years, when some outsiders are reminiscing about those riots, the reason appears quite loud and clear. The intention is to tarnish the nation’s top leader’s image which has been chosen & elected by the Indian masses and also the reason looks provoking peace-loving Indians to go to the extent of creating riots between Hindus and Muslims in India.

Now the opposition which at the same time looks opposing India too, needs to answer this – Ever since Modi has become the country’s Prime Minister, has Gujarat of 2002 been repeated? Has anyone seen major riots anywhere? This is the only country that has given all equal rights to minorities which are in majority too in many Indian cities. The RSS has National Muslim Morcha keeping them and their trust with the majority of Hindus and PM Modi himself has made efforts for the upliftment of Pasmanda Muslims, apart from many such efforts for supporting Muslims in India.

It is Modi-Raj only which has freed Muslim women from triple talaq. It is Modi government again which has successfully gone for Bharat Jodo attempt with connecting Kashmir to India annihilating the 370. There is also complete freedom of expression as well in India. No one is afraid but the people who oppose India and Indians. The message from Modi’s new India clearly assures that no one needs to be afraid in India as long as you respect democracy and law of the land.
