Starting on October 24, WhatsApp will no longer function on cellphones running outdated operating systems.
Devices from LG, Sony, Samsung, Google, and more brands are included in this.
The most recent version of WhatsApp will not work on devices running Android 4.1 or earlier, as WhatsApp has discontinued support for these operating systems.
Users may become more susceptible to security breaches and lose out on new services.
Users must update their phone or move to a supported device after receiving advance notice.
Only Android-powered smartphones are impacted; iOS and KaiOS devices are not.
